Lunch with my brother

Yesterday the roomie and I were going to meet my brother and his wife for lunch. We were going to be going to Red Lobster, that is like 10 minutes, in normally heavy traffic, away. At 12 minutes to, I get a call from him. "Where are you?" "We're still at home," I told him. I had just finished loading the dishwasher and was getting ready to start it. "We're supposed to meet," he said. "We are only 10 minutes away," I told him. "We are getting ready to leave." We were out of the house in 2 minutes. There was a slight delay for the across the street neighbor to tell us something, but we still drove up at a minute or so until time. He was waiting for us outside. We got out and he said that his wife was already at the table. "Great," I said. We get in and "SURPRISE!!!" There were not only his wife, but 4 other friends! They gave the roomie a stuffed elephant and me a stuffed giraffe (bit surprise.) What a lovely surprise party after the roomie had cancelled the party she had kind of planned for herself because almost nobody had said they were coming. Apparently someone went hunting on my FB timeline and connected with my brother and sister-in-law to arrange this. It was both of our first surprise parties!
