I Found One of My Writing Class Books Yesterday

I was going through a box of books in my office closet and found this book. This book is called “Now Write!” and is a GREAT source of “thought starters.” It has exercises from Gay Talese; Ishmael Beah; Reza Aslan; John Matteson; Lee Gutkind and others. You’ve heard me talk about this before, I’m sure. Basically, it’s just the beginning of a sentence and then you, as the writer, create a short article or story out of the idea. Here are a couple examples: I will make it a challenge for you. And I will accept the challenge for myself and write on these subjects over the next week and see what I can come up with. Let me know if you accept the challenge. “This story shouldn’t be told because _________________” “Most of my time is spent doing___________________” “This is the time of my life when ________________”

I love challenges but I think I cannot do it at the moment. I am already in a week of challenges in my offline work. I guess, once the English Festival is over in our school, then, I can start accepting online challenges.

I understand if you are busy with something else. Just keep it in mind and maybe you can get back to it later.

I'm sure I've had this book on my bookshelf. I'm not sure if it is still there or not.

It's a really nice book for improving your writing skills. I'm going to work from it here in the next few weeks and see if some of the lessons can lead me to write some interesting articles to post on myLot. Let me know if you find your book and we can trade ideas.
