Going to the cinema becoming an ordeal?

Is it just me or did going out to see a movie become something one would rather avoid? Standing in line to buy a ticket, finding your seat, not minding all those answering their phones during the most emotional or intense scene of the film, getting up to let those with a small bladder, pass you on their way to the toilet. All these just don't seem acceptable in an age where you can see virtualy any film in the comfort or your own couch, with loads of your favourite snacks and the ability to pause at any time. What about those rare moments when everyone in a theater connects on an undefinable, magical level? Is it worth losing that?

Yes, and there's the popcorn, the slurping soft drinks, the taking of selfies. That also depends on the movie. Some movies attract kids, others not.

My family normally pick the movies that we would like to watch on the big screens... normally the action packed ones, animation.. or science-fiction... mostly Hollywood movies... we don't go to the cinemas mostly because it has become very, very costly.. the ticket prices have gone up so much over the years, and with all seven of going, the cost for drinks, snacks and popcorn.. can really total up to be a lot..

I haven't been to a cinema for a long time although I think a film should be seen there on a large screen together with an appreciative audience.

Seeing a movie at the theater has become a pain. Too cold air conditioning. Sound too loud and hearing the movie next door. Annoying people.

People visit the cinema mostly for a social evening out. And of course, most prefer to see movies on a big screen.
