Dirty Public Restroom / myLot

I was in a supermarket that I don't go to often but I had to go to another store near it. Since I also had more stops after that, I thought I should use the restroom just in case. I have used restrooms in other supermarkets and store, etc. before but this was a totally new experience. First the restroom was way in the back off of the produce section and you had to go into a room where produce was being unpacked to put out on display. The door to the restroom was open and was only a very few feet from open boxes of produce. The restroom was the dirtiest one I have ever been in. There was urine in the un-flushed toilet, toilet paper on the floor, the sink was dirty, etc. Covering all the schools I ever went to all the way to college, the army when I was there to the places I have worked, I have never encountered such a dirty restroom. For it to be so close to food and especially produce was terrible.

you should report it. Over here there are rules about the amount of doors that need to be between a food area and a toilet.

I would not be going to that store for produce at all. Have you thought to call their corporate offices on it? It's really weird that the bathroom was there to begin with. How old is the building the supermarket is in?

I let them know in an online survey. I don't know the age of the building but I don't think it is any older than other places I have been that were fine.

@stealthy I was thinking of the location of the bathroom when it came to the age of the building. Newerish buildings, surely, wouldn't put the bathroom there. I hope they do something about it then. I still wouldn't be getting my produce from them.

public restroom just like a nightmare. maybe should hold for a while until find a relatively familiar one. i seldom to the restroom i hadn't been to. unless it's in a shopping mall normally have clean restroom

In similar supermarkets, even on in the same chain but different location, the rest room was fine. After several stops and more to come, at my age sometimes you have to go on a timely basis.

Don't they have a suggestion box somewhere or just call the manager to complain about it? It is embarrassing on their part.

ugh that sounds terrible. especially near all the food. I hate public restrooms, I will never go into a gas station restroom again after some of the things I have seen. I don't care how badly I need to go. It is so sad

Public restrooms are never clean in India. However, now there are what they call Sulabh Shauchalay which people pay and use. There are people to clean such restrooms.
