New girl has called in sick several times already

This new girl has worked for our store 3 weeks max. She has called in sick twice now, stating her son is sick. I am sorry fire her, if she is calling in sick this much already she is useless. The first time I gotthe call and she went on and on how shes a single mother. I really don't care you are irresponsible and a hassle. I just creeped her on facebook and she just started working at shoppers in september. Clearly she cant hold a job

Is this a full time job? Or a part time.
Could really be her son is sick though. It doesn't show a good impression, but when I was a temp to hire and called out sick ~ I really went to the doctors because I was sick & handed a note in.

@infatuatedbby that is very true but I doubt it.I creeped her on facebook she shouldn't post her adventures when she calls in sick today.

Yes,but you have a note. No place cares whether your kid is sick or better yet you. She has been there just under a month.Most places 1 time sick yes that is ok but twice, then rescheduling before. When I was a manager I'd fire for less.

I can't feel sorry for her. I went into work feeling sick as dog multiple times. Our boss did not see that as an excuse to stay out of work. There were exceptions of course, but you better have a doctors note. And she needs to stop with the single parent card.

Mine either. If you need or want the job under 3 months probation you do not call in sick.

@ricki_911 It shows she just doesn't want it. I think in the USA and a person is collecting they have to show proof before getting their monthly check that they were actually looking for a job.
