Anyone that knows me knows that I am a hockey freak, especially where the Colorado Avalanche are concerned, hence this series. We're at #5: Chris Drury. Chris Drury played four seasons with the Avalanche, and truly made his mark with the team. He was a member of Colorado's 2001 Stanley Cup winning team. He is the only player ever to win both the Hobey Baker Award (best college player) and the Calder Trophy (NHL Rookie of the Year.) During his time as an Av, Drury played in 314 games and scored 85 goals. I loved watching him play, and even owned his #37 replica jersey. (Fun Fact: Drury threw a five hit complete game, and drove in two runs, winning the 1989 Little League World Series.) (Verified by Wikipedia.)

They traded him to Calgary for a young defenseman named Derek Morris, who just never panned out here. He also played for Buffalo and finished as captain of the Rangers.

@teamfreak16 That was a bust of a trade. Did they think Morris has potential or was it a salary dump?

@JohnRoberts - It was his potential. Morris does alright with the Coyotes.
