No Christmas tree tonight.

Well the man child has thrown the lights in the trashcan. grabbed the keys and walked out the door. The spawn have now all gone to bed, with the exception of the youngest who never sleeps, and I am sitting here contemplating weather or not to bake cookies. we shall try this endeavor again maybe in the morning after coffee. Does anyone else have this much trouble setting up a tree.

I think that once the kids are grown and moved out we may convert to a small tree. Less hassle. But for now, we keep it big. lol my husband always tells people i say its for the kids but he knows that its for me because of the tradition and feels that comes with it.

I remember lots of drama and tying things up with string etc. when I was a child. We seem to just stick the tree in the stand and it works. They make such good Christmas tree stands now. Hope you get your tree up tomorrow.

@MandatoryMadness My husband does that. And then sometimes he won't buy things I want. It all works out though. He puts the lights up so I let him decide what to buy and what to throw out. lol

@paigea we all have our parts in the tree. I fluff the branches out to get a full tree, the husband puts the lights on, the kids put on the ornaments and then we all sit there and throw the tinsel and candy canes on. every year we let the kids pick out one new ornament, put their name on it and then when they are old enough to move out they have 18 ornaments to start their own tree with. I get to pick the rest of the decorations though because my husband sucks at it lol

I honestly think the husband makes it out to be way harder than it actually is. I believe he does this to either get me to do it or make me not want to put one up the next year. neither of those will happen. Im sure we will get the tree up. He just likes to put a lot of lights on it.

I was just thinking of that today. I don't think that I could even pull the tree out of the box. I would probably have to cut the box to even grab hold of it. I should just sit in a corner of the basement, throw a sheet over it until next Christmas!!

We just aren't planning on setting one up this year since we are in the process of trying to move.

@thislittlepennyearns sometimes a small one can be just as or even more beautiful than a big tree. I think it all comes from whats put with it. the activities and such. my father has a charlie brown christmas tree that he puts up every year and it looks awesome always. quick note. he started it to be a brat and it just kind of became a thing every year after that.

It will all work out :). Isn't it funny how guys handle situations like that? Mine is the same way. Once he has things resolved, he acts like nothing was ever wrong in the first place.
