Cats Sleep Anywhere

Some of you probably know the poem, 'Cats Sleep Anywhere' by Eleanor Farjeon. Well Smooch proved that last night. My husband got up in the middle of the night to make a toilet visit and in the dark tripped over something unexpected on the toilet mat. It bolted out the door, receiving more of a fright at having his sleep disturbed than my husband received from the furriness under his foot. Poor Smooch, I wonder why he chose to sleep there.

I have to be careful about that too @valmnz because I have 5 cats in my master bedroom and during the nightly visit to the bathroom, usually 1 of them (Boots) is on the rug in front of the toilet. Smooch is such a cutie.

Smooch says thank you for the compliment and hi to Boots. Cats have minds of their own, don't they!

@valmnz Yes they do. They are what I call a 'never-ending puzzle'.

Ours used to sleep right where we'd trip over her, in places like the passage.

@valmnz One of ours made the mistake of curling up on my wife's chair and she sat down without looking. It won't make that mistake again

@valmnz The worst is the cat who sleeps on the stairs in the dark.

Is it warmer in the bathroom, or cooler since you are in summer now.

Neither. Maybe it is darker on that side of the house. The mat is new so that may have been the attraction.

Cats need their sleep. They'll try to find a comfy spot. Cute.

Tel that to Smooch! It was soft and warm, what more does a cat need?

Poor smooch. Cats are most odd when it comes to where they choose to be.

Cats like to squeeze into small areas to sleep. They are silly creatures that way.
