#2 in my Favorite "Time of Day" Songs series belongs to an act that appears quite frequently in these music ccountdown's of mine. The second spot is "3am Eternal" by The KLF. Formed in London in 1987 as The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu, The KLF consisted of Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty and whatever studio help needed. (Fun Wikipedia Fact: Drummond once managed both Echo and the Bunnymen and The Teardrop Explodes.) From their 1991 album, The White Room, "3am Eternal" was a highly danceable club hit that charted Top 5 in multiple countries, #1 in the UK and #5 on Billboard's Hot 100. Why does The KLF show up in a lot of these series? A lot of their songs fit the theme, and frankly, I love The White Room! It's a fantastic record that I listen to frequently.
