Got a Smart Phone That's Way Smarter Than Me

Sometimes it pays to complain about things. In Ontario, Canada there was a sort of a monopoly of cell phone providers and finally that situation is easing up a little. Although, it still exists. So, when we were not happy with our particular provider we talked to them about it before deciding to switch. Well, as is true today they offered us a deal---$25 less per month plus I could get rid of my outdated phone and get a new Smart-type phone. I'm not too tech-y but liked the idea of the camera and a few other great features. So we went for it and I'm happy with it although I find it sensitive to the touch as I lose the screen half the time. I am on a contract for two years but it's a light one where I could break it as long as I pay for the remainder of the phone. I'm getting used to it so hope I can later upload some great pics for everyone as now they would never load very well to myLot from my little camera. I'll be a regular tech savvy whiz! Look out for it. LOL!

The nice thing about today's smartphones is that they are designed to be intuitively easy to use and figure out. I don't know about other manufacturers, but when you buy an iPhone it does not come with any operating instructions. That is because they have tried to design the phone in such a way that you can pretty much figure everything out as you go. And if you need help, Siri is always a push of a button away!

I may be asking you where to save my photos as they don't download for me on myLot- but I haven't tried it yet with my new SmartPhone.

@LadyDuck Oh darn- thought I had a tech helper in you! Btw I made a note of that link where you can add your photos and it will make them fit and will probably use it if I have difficulty. Thanks for that!

I know what you mean about "that" provider. I have them for my cellphone, but I have a pay as you go plan and its mostly for texting, because I'm just terrible at hearing well enough on my cellphone. My hubby was with the low end of that company, but when his iPhone was paid off, he went on a pay as you go plan also. We still have a landline, so we rely on our cells mostly for texting, he will check his emails on it, so our plans suit us well. Don't fret about feeling less smart then your phone, we all go thru that I think!

You will get the hang of it before you know it! We have so many gadgets and use different carriers due to two different homes. So far, no complaints. We also have two different house phone carriers. We are overly well connected. Lol!

I got a new phone in the summer when my old one quit. I miss my slide out keyboard but the rest I like. Better camera and it is much faster on the wifi. Then phone costs me $15 per month but I could pay that off any time and go elsewhere if I want. We phoned Telus to say we wanted to get rid of our home phone and they gave us the home phone for $15 per month, so we kept it for now. No voice mail, no long distance, just a phone that works when the power is out. A good thing out in the country.

Yes at that price it's a good idea to keep a land line.
