If you are an atheist or agnostic would you want to get married in a fancy Church? I know a guy who got engaged to a girl. He pretty much doesn't believe in God. But, he wanted to get married in a big fancy Church. His fiance believes in God , and it really didn't matter to her if she married in a Church. She really had her sights set on having one of those destination weddings. But, he got his way and they married in the Church and had a big wedding. I learned through the Grape Vine that many of his fiancees relatives came to the wedding and one rich relative came that I think the groom wanted to get in good graces with. In other words, the big wedding was all a show. It was to impress the wealthy relatives. His side really wanted this, whereas the fiancee felt like she had to go along with it so as not to disappoint his side of the family. She really had wanted to have a destination wedding at a beach.

Personally I think it is worse to have a church wedding just for show. I am strong in my faith and I certainly would never do that. I think they might have been better off with the destination wedding nothing wrong with that either.

Whatever sort of wedding people have, they should both be in agreement about it.

It's sad when this happens. I wonder how long they'll be together.
