The Wind was in a howling mood.
It blasted through the night.
The children huddled under their covers
In a collective fright.
The Wind grew stronger
As the night went on.
Branches swayed
And then they snapped.
The children screamed in unison.
"You're disturbing us from our nap."
The Wind frowned in disappointment.
"I'm sorry that you are upset.
I'll be a little more quiet
So that you'll have no regret."
Indeed the Wind did settle down.
The children thanked the Wind and said,
"You are acting much more kindly.
Now we can rest our heads."
The Wind can be a friend or foe.
It depends upon its mood.
Remember to respect the Wind,
And never be mean and rude.
