All for nothing: the dentist didn´t show up.

I came back home very angry. I put on a nice dress in spite of the heat to go to the dentist. I called a cab that took me to the Metro. When I was 2 blocks from the dentis, his secretary called. The doctor is not coming, she said.
These are the tomes when I want to curse. But it is no use. The dentist will not hear, he is elsewhere. And maybe if I was in front of him I´d just talk to him with an icy ladylike tone.
I came back and on the way to my house, I went in to a supermarket and bought ham an cheese to make me some grilled sandwichs which are not on the doctor´s list.
This is when I think that the only way to live happy is to drown the problems. I´m not drinking much, so I´ll eat

I didn´t ask then. I spent a lot of money getting there and was in no mood to ask for another appointment. I´ll wait after Christmas.

That's so bad that the dentist cancelled the appointment suddenly. He should do it earlier before as you were already on the way. Here both dentists and patients paid attention to the appointments and we seldom would cancel it. Perhaps the dentists have a lot of patients to handle here, so they seldom will cancel it as it will affect a lot of patients. And the patients won't cancel it as it is not easy to book another time.

He had an emergency. One of his children was ill. But if seems ne could have called earlier and I would not have left my house.

I know the frustration you must have felt. I once drove two hours for a doctor's appointment, waited over an hour, and was then told the doctor would not be able to see me that day. Needless to say, I was not a happy patient.
The doctor did have a good reason. He'd been called to the hospital to perform emergency surgery on a child injured in an accident.

An annoying waste of time, money and effort for you. Usually it's the patients who don't show up for the dentist, not the other way around.
