I carry one, of modest size (256k) along with my ID badge, just incase I need a quick save. In my bag, I have a larger drive (2GB) that is actually a multi purpose drive using a photo SD card (temporary), just in case I need to move a large file. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it can be very convenient. Sorry I can't tell you the brand, but they are cheap and availble widely. It is nice to be able to use the SD card for photos in my camera when travelling, or for data when at work. Better than spending money on two items that might not be used fully.
