A Merry Christmas begins with a dogs cold nose

When our sons were little, we had a strict Not Before 6am wake up time on Christmas morning before we'd let them come downstairs to see what Santa had brought them. The wait added to the excitement and anticipation. Now that our boys are grown, Christmas morning doesn't usually get started until at least 8 or so. Except for the dogs. Just after 6 this morning I was awakened by a cold nose nudging me, letting me know someone was up and ready for first potties and breakfast. So here I am, alone but for the dogs, waiting for them to finish breakfast. Once they have, I plan to go back to bed. But I wanted to use this time to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

I miss those cold noses. I also remember the anticipation from growing up and my kids as well. It amazes me that you can't get them up early on any other day of the year except Christmas. Now my Christmas starts a lot later as well. I miss those days. Merry Christmas.

I miss those days when Christmas morning still seemed to have magic about it.

@DWDavis So do I. I saw it in the kids faces last night as they tore off the paper from the gifts I gave them.

Ruby won't go out until after she eats, food is far more important LOL. We were up at 5 am. Merry Christmas.

Our pups make a bee line for the back door as soon as one of us shows a sign of life in the morning. I hope y'all had a very Merry Christmas day.

@DWDavis I am at my sister's house for the holiday until Thursday, so I am having a very Merry Christmas. I am glad yours was better than ever. Sort of a vacation from home. The only problem was my sister's dog trying to eat my hamster, Marty! We are a pair, so he was invited along, too!

@Marty1 I'm glad the dog didn't get ahold of your hamster. That would have put a damper on Christmas.

I missed this on Christmas Day but I hope you had a great day. Are you sure the dogs weren't just anxious to get their presents? :)

They might have been. Ace loves his presents. He's been playing with them almost non-stop, keeping me and my sons hopping to toss them for him to chase.

Merry Christmas, my boys thought they would be plowing today so we had Christmas last night. They live a fair bit away and they just left to see if the snow will drop up north and give them something to do...

@DWDavis You just gave me another story for myLot by putting that eh in your sentence. Brought back a really strange memory. Thank you and I'll credit it to you too... We did have a wonderful time, by having it on Saturday it worked for everyone, including my youngest son who went to the in-laws on Sunday - Usually that day is shared with both...

Merry Christmas. I will be off to bed myself as festivities won't begin until atleast after lunch. I'll be awoken if I am not already, so that I can join in. I was awoken Christmas eve by a cold dog nose, I was spending the night with my best friend and she has several poches.
