At least it is in my part of the world, I'm now sitting here alone, sipping my favorite red wine, looking at a vase of flowers and my antique turn of the century lamp. The guests have left and all is quiet Are you glad that the rush and madness is over? Nothing against it, it was fun being with friends and family, giving and recieving gifts but now it's over and time to be alone, so how are you there now where you are? Still in the thick of it or just relaxing like me?

It's all over in Australia and it's now Boxing Day which will be taken up with sport for some. We fly home later today but we have a couple of small jobs to do for our son first.

@louievill Boxing Day has nothing to do with the sport of boxing. It began when servants were given a 'box' of goodies after looking after their masters on Christmas Day.

Yes, the Christmas rush is over but next will be the New Year's rush again ha ha ha ! I hope we will be having electricity already by tonight or tomorrow as NGCP has told our electrical engineer because our mall has its own sub-station which is down also because of the no supply coming from NGCP .

At least you can see the fireworks better in the dark, but seriously I wish power would be restored, it's a terrible way to spend the New Year.

@louievill We had a one-hour brown-out yesterday noon when it suddenly rained with gusts of wind. A rainy start of the year :)

Not over here yet. But as far as I am concerned I spent the day working in the house. Now time to rest and have some quiet.

Yes, it's over but it still feels like vacation for me. Hahaha! I still don't feel like going back to my online job. It's too cold right now, and I want to stay in bed a little longer but I had to get up and face the computer. Awww!

@Gita17112016 I searched about your country and it looks like a happy festive place, all images were like people having fun in beaches and festivals, in a way it looks similar to our country, is that the true picture or my idea correct?

@louievill Oh yes, the national image is one of carnival. But we are of different ethnic groups. 41% Indians, 41% African and the rest is Mixed. Very diverse cultures where the lines are all blurred. We each celebrate each other festivals and we each all have national holiday for ALL ethnic groups. We are the only country in the world with so many national holidays (16 the last I check). if it's any kind of holiday, we have it!

@louievill Yes, but keep in mind that both my name and my pic are my 'users name'. They are not real. However I am Indian. Trinidad has a mixture of all ethnic groups. A 'creole' by definition was anyone of non-Caribbean parentage who was born here. Not only French decedents. We are quite the diverse mixture. I think we have a lot in common with the Phillopinos. Especially family structure.

@marlina No we are born again Christians not Roman Catholic but the feast is simply a tradition in the whole country. Im not so sure but I think the Epiphany had more of Orthodox origins
