Why there are people who seemed not to be contented with what they have in Life?
Why can't they find happiness even if they seem complete in almost everything they want?
She has gone to many places in US.
Had an extravagant vacation in Canada, Las Vegas, New Jersey, New York, Washington, Pennsylvania, Los Angeles and spent Christmas in Maryland but still saying that she is not happy with her life?
She works in Australia and earns dollars.
A very big amount compared to what she earns here in the Philippines, but still not happy?
My goodness !!!
What kind of happiness she is looking for?

Sounds like she might be missing the most happiness that my life brings which is love. Without that life isn't worth much even with all the money and vacations in this world.

@magallon Oh okay, I wasn't sure since you didn't mention love. =) Some people cannot be happy no matter what they have or don't have-which is a sad life for them.

@LovingMyBabies Normally, people have no contentment in life. They still hope for more even if they already have plenty. Or maybe they just can't appreciate the beauty of life that's why they say that they are not happy.

First of all who is she?
Happiness is state of mind. If one does not want to remain happy or in other words if one cannot tune his/her mind that she is happy, come what may she cannot be happy. Travelling to various places, earning huge amount and have a comfortable life has nothing to do with one's state of mind. A poor man, who could hardly manage two times meal may be more happy than a millionaire because poor man lives for a day and he does not worry about tomorrow.

@magallon - OH! She is your elder sister who does not feel happy even after trips abroad and wealth in her hands.
Whatever you have suggested her seems alright and she should listen to your advice carefully. Next time, tell her to count her blessings in life, instead of cribbing.

@dpk262006 yeah, i sent her messages about happiness. I always tell her that she is luckier than us.
I just hope that one of these days she will realize how wonderful her life is..

If a person is basically unhappy he or she seeks luxuries or other ego boosting means to balance offset that. If you are basically a happy person, you create happiness around you and in the lives of others because your mind is free from silly clutter and you can think about what will make you and others happier. The attitude, however, needs to be cultivated from childhood.

Happiness and contentment is never to be linked with money. Pursuit of happiness has been a long time preoccupation of Man. It is like the carrot dangling before the donkey. It seems within reach and yet unreachable. To be happy for no reason is the real trick.

does she want to have her own family?
does she want more advancement in her career?
does she want to help other people? (some successful people find fulfillment when they start helping other people)

Happiness is pretty subjective, in my opinion. It's not always about quantity and definitely not equal to luxury. It's more about being content with what we have.

It think make things harder than what they really therefore causing themselves to long for more or thinking there should be more. Its always best when we find happiness in the simple things, I hope she figures it out soon.

when you have everything you will be lost... this is why if we have up and down in our lives, we will be too busy to be unhappy.
