2016 has been a bad year. I mean, any year you lose 5 pets is a bad year, right? Didn't start off too badly, I mean, I started getting Social Security, so that wasn't too bad. But in April we lost 2 cats in less than a week. I mean, I did put them to sleep, but it was pretty much past time for both of them. Then in October, our old dog stopped being able to walk and was barely eating. So, it was time for her. In November, we knew it was time for the other old dog, but he couldn't wait to go to the vet and died the day before. Finally, on the next to the last day of the year, Pong had stopped eating. I took him, and Oliver, who was also looking less then good, to the vet. Pong was in complete kidney failure. Since he had stopped eating, I knew it was useless to try and force him to keep going. I held him and pet him and talked to him while the vet let him go. We hope we can turn Oliver around, but we need to get him insulin. I hope to pick that up tomorrow. So, while I certainly mourn with the rest of world the deaths of those who have died of celebrity fame. Honestly, my personal loses, all be they pets, are much closer to home.

I am so sorry for all of the loss you have endured. =( It sounds like it was a terrible year for you. I hope 2017 is a much better year for you!

Unless something really bad happens, the dogs should be good, since they are 9 and 4. However... the cats are aging. I have 3 that are 14 going on 15, 1 that's 13, 1 who's 12 and not doing real good, another who just turned 12, 3 or 4 who are 11, including Oliver, a couple'a 9 year olds. The youngest is 4 now. The 3 E's are 7 or 8 I think, and we'll never catch them to take them to the vet, until they are so sick it'll be their time.
