The curse of 2016

The curse of 2016 is negativity. It's the belief that the world is ending because (fill in the blank). No, the world isn't ending, it's going to keep on turning just like always, only slightly differently. That's good news - because as humans we can adapt. We can use our words to convince others to change, or we can adjust how we respond to adversity and find greater success that way. I'm looking at a drastic reduction in my earning power, thanks to the radical left, but I'm going to do what I always do - think my way through it. I don't believe in curses unless they are self inflicted. So cheer up everyone! There's no such thing as a curse! That means we're free to take responsibility for how we behave, which gives us tremendous freedom! Here's to a bright 2017! What are your goals for this year?

planning is a good thing, having emergency supplies, doing an hour or two of OT, or a side job to pay off some more debt, anything to cushion whatever this year has to offer.

@Rohvannyn I was watching for work this AM, didnt see a single job pop up, checked the usual job boards elsewhere, nothing new. I do have 2 days scheduled this week, be nice to be able to work tomorrow though. 3 days nets me 200 odd.

I have the supplies, I'm doing the OT, working on the side job - ironically, the financial problems I foresee are caused by decisions from 2016 state legislation, so perhaps there may be improvement in 2017.

@Jessicalynnt Well, good luck to you in finding some work. It's never fun dealing with part time stuff when there isn't enough, but great when you can pick and choose what you'd most like to do.

My goal is to lose weight. I joined a 'Biggest Loser Challenge' sponsored by the gym that I go to. My target is to go down to 130 pounds and achieve a body fat percentage of 19%. The challenge has started and will end on April 1st. Although, I'm happy with my body now, I know that I'll be happier with a six-pack.
