As it gets close to my birthday (Feb. 1) - I thought I would share my tips about birthday giveaways. *Be sure to sign up plenty ahead of your birthday.  Sometimes it takes a little while to get on their mailing list and if you sign up only days before they may miss your birthday. * I like to use a different email account, other than my main one because often times I find that you will get mailings throughout the year. * Arby's, Culvers, Noodles and Co., Cold Stone Creamery, Cherry berry, Perkins - all of these offer a birthday gift that ranges from a free desert to a free meal *Victoria's Secret - apparently offers a free item -- I have never received it, personally. *Many local establishments offer a free birthday meal - locals would know the best places in your area but I know several bars, Mexican restaurants, Chinese buffets that offer a free meal. Do you have any favorite birthday freebie places you'd like to share? Photo: Mine

I've never heard of gifts being given out for birthdays in Australia but perhaps I just don't move in the right circles.

Oh wow, maybe it's a different custom - here a lot of places will give a free gift on your birthday. Sometimes it's just a percentage off your purchase, or a coupon, other times it's a free drink, desert or meal...

I don´t know of any personally sorry but I think the idea is a very good one. I like the idea of Mexican or Chinese Restaurants and specially as they will be near to their celebrations of their own New Year I would think.

For my birthday, I would always get a free meal at Bob Evans, my favorite homestyle, American-cooking restaurant. It became a happy tradition for me. Unfortunately, they discontinued the coupon. I still have continued the tradition :)
