Current Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan who is the son of former Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shahahan is one of the candidates to succeed Gary Kubiak as the head coach of the Denver Broncos. Mike Shanahan coached the Denver Broncos to two straight Super Bowl titles in 1998 and 1999 as the head coach of the team. John Elway was his quarterback in those years the Broncos won the Super Bowl. Elway would like to repay Mike Shanahan the favor of coaching him 1995-1999 by hiring his son Kyle who is currently the offensive coordinator of the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons would have to their football season end before Kyle Shanahan can be hired by the Broncos or the other five football teams that currently have head coaching vacancies. The Falcons who are currently the second seed in the National Football League playoffs are currently on a bye week when they will take on either the Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers or the New York Giants in the National Football Division Round on Saturday January 14, 2017.
