Flirting

One time I teased this guy at work, and immediately I was told that I was flirting him. It made me stop and reflect on the term FLIRT. When you compliment on someone or try to say something to make someone happy, does it mean that you are flirting? I believe most of us, either intentional or unintentional, flirt from time to time. But to what extend do you go to?

i only flirt with a guy when he starts it. in my case.... It is usually meant to be taken lightly and done just for the fun of it.

@ms1864 - Does it mean that once a guy try to flirt with you, you also start reciprocating

@dpk262006 depends on who the guy is to me.

I agree with you, sometime teasing needs to be taken slightly just for the fun of it. To me, this is a way to cheer people up.

I think there is a dividing line between appreciating and flirting and between teasing and flirting. If you keep appreciating or keep teasing a guy every now and then, then it could be considered as flirting in my opinion. Flirting is few step ahead of teasing, I believe.

Yes, there seems to be an invisible line between the two.

@dpk262006 I believe I am a teaser only. I like to make others laugh and I will make sure I watch what I am going to say... Are you?

For me that isn't flirting . It's just complimenting someone and it is said that we should give credit when it is due . You saw him good , so you told him .

to me , flirting is the intent to get someones attention and the intent to see if you can work up the courage to ask the person out.

No, I think complimenting someone is just saying something nice, I used to get accused of flirting when I wasn't and it annoyed me, I was just being friendly!

Yes, it is really annoying to be accused of something we didn't do... Not to worry, as long as we make others happy we are happy...

For me, it's hard to tell whether a guy is flirting with me or not. Especially if a compliment or a body signal is the first thing he says to me or gives me. In these cases, it is VERY easy to assume that. It's different if it's a close guy friend who compliments on how good you look. That's because you think it's most likely platonic. That is how it is for me at least. If a woman gives another woman a compliment, the chances of it being perceived as flirting are MUCH lower. When one of my girlfriends tells me how sexy I look, I know she's not flirting with me. I feel like it takes A LOT more convincing for a woman to feel like another woman is being flirtatious with her than with a guy. At least that's how I feel. I could be wrong about how others feel about this.

Thanks for sharing your view. Yes, it is very hard to know when a person is flirting or not.

Light flirt is ok, but if you are in relationship better to avoid even that
