I've read several books by Ben Elton and I really enjoyed them. His subject matter is very diverse with some set in the past and some in the future.

I like to read books about the supernatural, anything with ghosts, monsters, and angels. I also like to read a lot of romance books. I don't know if these suit your interests, but I'd be glad to make some recommendations.
