The top of the mountain as far as favorite songs with the word "day" in the title. I've had a great time listing my ten favorite "night" and "day" songs. Here's my favorite "day" song. #1: One Fine Day - David Byrne & Brian Eno Quickly, this is not the Carole King song that the Chiffons had a hit with in 1963. No, this was never was released as a single. But it may be one of the most singularly hypnotic, beautiful, and stellar songs that David Byrne has ever had his name on. During the first Talking Heads break-up (1981-82) front man David Byrne did an album with producer/musician/former Roxy Music member Brian Eno titled My Life in the Bush of Ghosts. I didn't really care for that album all that much, so when I read they were doing another album I didn't exactly stay out all night in front of the record store, waiting for it to go on sale. (Those of you who remember doing that for mega-albums like the Springsteen live album will appreciate that joke.) That was a mistake. Instead of the sampling of Bush of Ghosts, this second collaborative album was phenomenal. The highlight was this gorgeous, amazing, stupendous song. I'm not kidding -- this song took my breath away the first time I heard it. I hope you find this song half as beautiful as I do. If you do, this song just might make your day. Thanks for reading.
