These two are always sick

I don't understand why these two still have jobs. So I took the one girl shift this Sunday and then this coming Sunday. So she offered to take my shift tonight. She then texted me and asked to do 1pm -6pm then I do 6pm -11pm. So I said its no issue (means more money for me). She then texts me back and goes I don't think I can last the entire shift after she agreed to the while shift. She jsut doesn't want to work that is all. If they are this sick constantly then they need to see a doctor. I mean both girls are constantly sick or calling in sick.

Some people just don't want to work. I know my daughter managers a bar and they have a hard time getting good employers that actually show up for work. They either call in sick every shift or they don't even bother calling in. Some people just don't have any work ethics.

I know both my jobs are like this. I am shocked how the managers can think this is acceptable. Yet, those of us who do show up have to work extra hard. I want to know how they afford anything if they don't go to work.

@ricki_911 My daughter worked over night at the bar on Friday night. She got home at 4 am and she gets a call at 8am that she has to go open because the girl who was suppose to work called in sick and they couldn't get anybody else to work. She worked all day until 6pm Saturday evening.

@Happy2BeMe That is how I am right now I am currently on 3 weeks straight working 70 hours the week. I work straight through until January 29th right now but I would assume I'll probably get called in. I don't understand how they can just not show up, or best the excuses they make. The one girl claims she missed her 9 hour shift because she was studying and lost track of time.

The boss or supervisor needs to request a medical certificate since they are sick.

@ricki_911 Well they need to submit a doctor's report to prove this. If they are sick for so long then they need to visit a doctor as this is really serious...or they need to leave that job.

@Jam4321 That is how I view it. They are always sick and one thing after another. If this is the case they really need to see adoctor. One girl claims to have a bladder infection and kidney infection.

They don't take their jobs seriously enough. They will be fired in time I am sure of it. They will have to find someone else for that job. In the meantime, take all the extra money you can get. You benefit but don't over work yourself.

It is something many people seem to do so often, we wonder how they stay employed.

People rarely phone in sick in my job as you don't get any sick pay for the first three days and after you need a doctors certificate for prolonged sickness. Even if they did, for me it wouldn't matter as I do my job on my own. If chefs phone in sick it doesn't impact me at all...if my colleague phones in sick it means OT for me which is always welcome

We don't get paid sick days either, and usually most places after so many sick calls they need a note. But I beklieve the manager is desperate as he tends to go through a lot of employees. But these two call in sick at least 1 shift a week (out of their 3). But even being in their early 20's I was working 3 jobs by that time.
