India

Today i.e. on 24th January, India is celebrating National Girl Child Day to spread awareness about the girl child development in the backdrop of the present situation prevailing in the country. The initiative by Government of India is a very noble way of contributing a substantial share towards the greater cause. The rampant incidents related to girl abuse and killings happening all over the country should be an awakening for all citizen. When you see a long line of school students chanting slogans on the streets for girl child and women safety and development like 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' (meaning: Save Daughters, Educate Daughters), you get a sense of how these youths are, to an extent, already aware of the state of affairs prevalent in the country regarding the mentioned topic. Today's youth are educated and informed well enough to make people understand the perils of letting some miscreants do wrong to girl child and women. The main aim is to educate and spread awareness. A country which has the maximum population of youth has the power to bring a wave of change on a very large scale. Let's hope for the positive and move ahead.
