Trump's Muslim Ban

After reading several articles regarding President Trump's executive order temporarily banning people from Iraq, Iran, Libya, Syria, et al, I learned that it is actually legal. However, it would have been better if instead of total ban, extreme vetting of people from these countries applying as refugees, immigrants, and visitors to the USA should have been implemented. I believe President Trump should lift the ban to cool down the anger of the liberals (democrat-politicians), some republicans, and the media. I just hope that the next crazy extremist won't blow himself in front of Senators Graham and McCain or some Jupiter/Canada-bound Hollywood celebrities. If this will ever happen (O, I pray it will never happen), then USA politicians would say: "Trump was right!" This is just my opinion. What is yours? Note: Complementing image is taken from Pixabay.

I see Iran is banning Americans from their country now. It was bound to happen.

I don't think they've banned them, just thinking about it. Iraq are thinking about it too

Technically speaking it isn't a muslim ban. It's a temporary ban on people from a list of countries...they may not be muslim. Although they are predominantly muslim dominated countries. He's left out the big hitter in the terrorist world which is Saudi Arabia...maybe due to the oil they export to the US. Also Pakistan, home of bin laden, isn't on the list and that country is as dodgy as they come My opinion...an epic fail on many levels

This Trump is truly controversial, I just hope he knows what he is doing and that it will bring more good than bad to his country hopefully.

@salonga If President Duterte knows what he is doing, then Trump also knows what he is doing. I believe ordinary Americans agree with Trump's decision to ban muslims.

My opinion is that this is a stupid decision and it shows how shallow and simple-minded he is. But even if banning everyone is the only way, why not start with the countries whose nationals committed most of the terrorist attacks? I believe some North African countries should be on top of that list, not Yemen! I always considered G. W. Bush to be the least intelligent of the US presidents. But even he would never come up with such a stupid idea.

I respect your opinion . . . but he may be stupid as you think (though I disagree), he is surrounded by many smart people. In fact, I believe most Americans (with the exception of the media, some envious politicians like McCain, Graham, and many democrats) LIKE banning muslims from these countries.

What if the terrorist is from another country? I do not believe that those from the countries he picked up never did any damage to the United States.

@LadyDuck . . . but those countries are the places where those ISIS militants are operating . . and they are the ones training muslim extremists (from other muslim countries) and sending them to the west and America to kill people. Anyway, I don't fully agree with the temporary ban, but I support the so-called extreme vetting of refugees/immigrants from muslim countries.

The next crazy extremist may be a.local white American! The ISIS appeals to the rebellious youth through the Internet. The blanket ban includes all those holding green cards, holding highly paid positions in universities, banks and big companies too. This blanket ban is simply ridiculous!

@antonbunot The implementation of this executive order sucks. For one thing, he could have order the embassies and visa offices in the 7 countries to stop issuing visas, then to communicate with the various governmental agencies and to the airlines before implementing this order. On day one, the green card holders were detained, and it took the courts to free them. This just shows how badly it is managed right from the start.

@scheng1 No, green card holders are exception to that particular executive order. The temporary ban appears to be bad, but I believe, President Trump implemented it for the safety of the American people. In fact, most Americans, I suppose, support a TOTAL ban of Muslim refugees.

I support Trump. As he says, it is a temporary ban (90 days) for those from those certain countries. It is not bashing the entire religion of Islam. It is not racist. It is extreme vetting to protect this nation from radical Islamic terrorists.

Excluding people is a form of discrimination. I thought we were in the 21st century. Seems he wants us to go back to the middle ages.

@Beatburn I am guessing that the reason why Trump picked these 7 countries is because these are the places where ISIS militants are operating actively. They may not be operating in those African countries . . but the terrorists operating there support ISIS.

@sallypup . . . Although I don't fully agree with the temporary ban of refugees from these 7 countries, I fully support the proposed extreme vetting. Trump, I suppose, is thinking of the safety of the American people from muslim extremists. I just hope one day NO muslim blows up himself where politicians and celebrities are!

i am glad our country is not among the 7 that he banned on immigration. i am sad though because he seemed to generalize all residents of those countries as terrorists

Just compare the number of americans attacked and the number of people america attacked in the last fourty years. You could know which is real terror!!!!

@sans224 I understand your point . . but American military are only assisting countries fighting ISIS and AlQueda militants. They don't intend to kill ordinary muslims and other people like what these ISIS extremists are doing.

Without going into this to much I would like to comment about you saying why doesn't he give in and lift it to ease liberal/Democrat and Republican who oppose this. Do we reward children for throwing a temper tantrum when they don't get their way?!?! Would that not simply send the message that all they need to do when they disagree is to act out and they will get their way?! Just some food for thought :) xx

@Dnuobrats You have the point.. . Yeah, if he gives in to those whiners like Graham and McCain (who are losers), Trump becomes a loser like them . . and they consider him weak president. I change my mind then . . .He should not give in. Actually, I believe most ordinary Americans support the temporary ban and extreme vetting.
