Wondering About His Sexuality

I am now wondering about one of my online guy friend's sexuality. Another guy posted a comment underneath my friend's social media picture that basically said, "you are looking sexy". And, my friend said "thank you". I was really surprised by that. It got me to thinking, women can say that other women are pretty, or hot, but that doesn't mean that the woman saying that is gay, because that is just how women are. I have said how pretty a woman is, but I am as straight as can be. A man can say another man is handsome, but that doesn't mean they are gay. There is a difference between the words "handsome" and "sexy". Only a straight man will say another man is handsome. Only a guy who is gay will tell another guy he is sexy, (or that guy could go both ways). What do you think about this? Do you think this guy pal of mine is gay?

@LeaPea2417 I work with a lot of gay people and a lot of very hot ladies...the banter is a mix or ho*o and hetersexual The * is because of mylot word filter.

He could be or maybe the other guy is hoping he is. But gay is in this year. If he is, people will admire him and say he is courageous.

I don't think it necessarily means he's gay, he could just be very polite, which is why he responded with a thank you. Also, the other guy could have said it jokingly, so he also could have been replying jokingly. I'm straight as can be, but I probably would say thank you to anybody who called me sexy!

I think he was kind in saying a simple thank you. The other guy sounds gay to me, not that there is anything wrong with that.

Interesting question. It could be that he's just polite, and secure. After all, he didn't way "thank you, you look sexy too," right?

its possible. Some people are subconsciously bisexual and are not aware of it. You could just ask him...if you are close friends.

He probably is gay but at least he is showing some form of expression. A lot of gay men stay in the closet so to speak. So anyone leaving the closet must be a brave person to be able to take the scrutiny by the peers (should there be any hostility towards them).
