Help yourself first, so you can help others

I believe in the saying that you should help yourself first before you help others. Let's put it this way so we can easily picture it out: We cannot pour from an empty cup. That being said, it is wiser to help ourselves first and have abundance so that we can help those that are having their shortcomings and also teach them how to be independent so they can stand on their own and eventually help more people.
Do you agree with me?

Good one. We can help with whatever we have. If we don't have happiness we can't share that. If we have frustrations we will end up sharing that only if try..... So better not.

@Funky2017 yeah that's why sometimes being too unselfish is also bad. Too much of anything is bad generally that's very obvious already. That is why we must also know when to help and when not, we need to be selfish sometimes so that we can help the right way in the future. That way we can help more people and efficiently without much risk for ourselves. If we hurry, it might come with a cost and most of the time it's on us so better not when we are not yet ready to help.

@TheInvisibleMan yeah gotta agree with you, that is the concept that some people do not understand. Some are too unselfish that they already forgot about themselves. I mean the intention is good and that is great but in the long run will just do them more harm than good.
