When you ruin your salad with the wrong dressing

I am very weird I get annoyed when I have a delicious salad and get excited about eating it but then I put on the dressing and it just doesn't go with the salad or it's not a great dressing. I had a great salad with 3 types of lettuce, cucumber, tomato, feta cheese, olives and chicken and all they had available at the store was balsamic vinaigrette and I put it on and I hate the taste of it. I still ate it of course but still, it needed a good dressing. Is anyone else picky about salad dressing?

The dressing doesn't worry me normally. but it would be a shame that your meal was spoilt.

I always use olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It's perfect for me. I don't know what balsamic 'vinaigrette' is supposed to be.

It's what you just mentioned, they call it balsamic vinaigrette in Canada (at least in some parts).

@tzwrites You're the first person I hear of who doesn't like the taste of balsamic vinegar.

We had some guests and I wanted to show off my cabbage salad which has my signature. I messed up by adding too much of mustard paste. They all ate it but did say they found the mustard a bit too much (lol)

I don't think I'm picky when it comes to salad dressing. Unless you put maple syrup, never tried, but I don't think the salad would taste good.

@tzwrites Nuts are fine, as long as they're not sweet. No almonds perhaps, walnuts should be okay. I like them on pizza too.

In fact most of the time I just use the normal salad dressing. And we almost have fruits salad all the time. The salad dressing matches with the salad dressing and it is fine for me. I seldom will make a new kind of salad.

I vary between virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar and a creamy blue cheese or Caesar salad dressing, depending on what's in my salad.

I prefer lemon juice, vinegar, olive oil, herbs and spices. Salads with a light dressing are low in fats and high in nutrients.

To be honest I don't really care about the dressing....I care only about the taste..how ever it is, Iam just going to eat it so I don't really care about the salad dressing..
