Adderall, is it going to help me?

I can not pay attention or focus on anything. The only thing I focus on is whatever is on my mind. I've never thought about having ADD, but I'm starting to realize I have a problem. I daydream all day. I zone out when people are talking to me. I'm the definition of maladaptive daydreaming but goodness how do you control it? Will adderall help? I've been reading about it but does it help for daydreaming? I just need to focus more and pay attention. Does anyone have experience with this problem?

I don't have problems like that. I wonder how hard it is. I took meds for my anxiety

I have taken anxiety and depression meds but never anything for that type of stuff. I've never noticed it until now.

If you plan on taking some substance, I think you should see a professional first. I know Adderall is prescribed for ADD by doctors, if that's your case you can buy it legally with a prescription. I wouldn't suggest to buy and use it illegaly. I've never tried it but heard of it. I think I experience your symptoms, especially when everything looks so boring. However, in my case, it isn't bad enough to be diagnosed as a disorder. I'm sorry to hear about your problem, I don't know what can work for it, except the typical meditation, therapy for almost everything it seems.

Yeah I'm trying to get back into therapy. I need to talk with my general physician first. I don't want it the illegal way lol

Well we have a child suffering from ADHD it shares some of the same symptoms as what you have. It is difficult. We tried the medicine and it works for some and not for others. He did well on it. You can get through without meds but it doesn't mean that it would be much easier. We break up his tasks to one thing at a time. We also set a time limit on each task to help keep him focused. We keep him busy with activities he can enjoy that are productive. You have to find what works for you. I would say try the meds and see how you do and if they work for you stick with them and if not try others and other methods until you find something that works for you.

Perhaps meditating will help. It's about being totally aware in present. Whenever your mind wanders, you try to actively bring your mind back to the present. It's kind of a practice, like anything else. The more you practice, the more you can focus. It's very effective Previously my mind used to shut down in my own little world and sometimes it still does, but the frequency is much less now. I can really see what's going on around me. Concentration has also improved a lot. My friend meditates since he was a kid and he's got the brain of a fast processor only because he can concentrate like hell. You can try this technique out by taking 30 minutes a day.
