Candidates for political offices don't need obscene amounts of money to run!

Unfortunately, when greed is the primary motivation, corruption doesn't recognize geographical boundries. What the United States and all countries need is to eliminate the vast amounts of money paid to people in political office. Limits on how much money is collected and how it is spent needs to be put into place. With the internet (Hopefully, President Trump won't be able to successfully eliminate Net Neutrality blocking us from access to the Internet.) candidates for public office can make their ideas and positions known and allow the voters to get to know them for free with the use of websites and social media. Every person with a cellphone is an opportunity for a candidate to get their message across and get media exposure.

Great in theory but good luck in practice. Too much money at stake for them to reign it in.

When a large amount of people raise their voice, politicians can't ignore it. Republican Representatives in the U.S. Congress are complaining that President Trump abandoned them, leaving them to have to answer to the people without support from the White House.

@flpoolbum I think the UK system has issues...they pale in comparison to the US system in my opinion.
