The Tree

The Tree

The Tree - There it stands - the tree in back of our new home. We may have moved our home to Magnolia, but the tree that stands by the house is an evergreen tree. Exactly what kind of evergreen tree it may be, I do not know, but the tree is certainly nice and green - and this is the month of February. Almost any tree would probably find it easy to be green today. The temperature outside is right close to 85 degrees, Fahrenheit - probably at or close to a record high temperature for the month of February. This nice tree sits among the many other trees back there behind the house - a really dense and woodsy place it is, too. The deer that roam around this area like to leave their footprints back there. So, whenever I get my breath back and feel rested following our moving to this place, I am going to sit up some late evening and see if any deer come to say "hello" to us from back there. They ought to, for how else would their little footprints have gotten there before now? I will next post a photo of the "trail" behind the fence and in front of the woods. How nice it is to live in the countryside instead of in the crowded city. Image source: Gus Kilthau

@bunnybon7 - You are so correct about those ticks. I do not like any bug that bites at me and at whih I cannot return the favor. -Gus-

I moved from city living to country living about 6 years ago and it was amazing how different it is. We also have deer which wander through our yards and in nearby woods. Dusk is the best time to see deer as well as early mornings. I'm sure you're going to enjoy the country lifestyle

@hereandthere - Yesterday was plenty hot around these parts. Today it is stormy - thunderstorms and some tornadoes round and about (but not right here). The only problem with the warm, summer-like weather in wintertime is the presence of skeeters and other kinds of pesky bugs. Yes. It does snow in this part of Texas - I think maybe once in every 50 years or so. Lots of hurricanes and tornadoes, however. Not that long ago we were getting the news about the record-setting typhoons in the Philippines. Tough weather, those. -Gus-

@MALUSE - "M.-L." - Seeing such things in the post makes for an interesting coincidence. I was hoping to see some large numbers in my bank checkbook. Funny how those coincidences occur from time to time. -Gus-

@im2brch Thank you. I'd like to see this in the post proper, though.

@garymarsh6 - I finally got the image size down low enough (193KB) and was able to load it to MyLot. Don't know what is going on with those images. Used to allow 3MB. By the way - around this part of Texas the Magnolia tree used to be known as the "Buffalo Tree." (I do not know why.) So our "Buffalo Bayou" is so-called due to the large number of magnolia trees along its banks. -Gus-

It sounds great to have some woods and trails behind your new home. We have the bush behind us but don't take the time to walk in it too much.

@JudyEv - Ms Judy - To get to the trail part we will have to climb over the fence. Will put up a photo tomorrow if I survive the night. -Gus-

@JudyEv - Ms Judy - Stiff and sore - Who could wish for more? Tired? Need to be "rewired." Gotta write in rhyming words so that I might recover from this doggone moving stuff. You are probably correct about putting a stile over the fence, but the fence belongs to someone else, so I guess I'd best not attempt that one. My advice about moving from there to here... stay put where you are and keep on smiling. And from here to there? As that famous old baseball player. Satchel Paige," used to advise, "Never look back. Something might be gaining on you." -Gus-

@Ceerios Are you really stiff and sore? Or just tired? I'm sorry you aren't feeling the best. When you're feeling better, I'll suggest maybe you could put a stile so you can get over the fence. :)
