At the end of the day today there will be classroom parties. Kids will open their Valentine's boxes. "A" will not want to work at all today. She will say "I can't wait" and literally mean it. But she will have to wait. Off to a challenging morning. How about you, will you party today?

We didn't party today. But we had an unexpected night in a motel with a lovely meal on Monday so that compensates for today.

Is there a story to that one, or did I miss it?

That is how we are here. Hubby did a lot more than I did, including supper.

No party today, but I do remember the excitement my students had when a holiday was in the works. Halloween had to be the most tiring day for teachers. We were all so glad when it was over.

Or how about the whole month of Christmas, and programs, and so on. . . it sometimes gets out of hand.

@GardenGerty Oh yes, far too much going on in that month. Our new principal got rid of a lot of the "fluff" going on at school and insisted more time be spent on academics. She was featured in the Chicago Tribune, a full-page spread, about how she alone caused a dramatic rise in standardized test scores.

@Corbin5 I love the extra music that goes with Christmas. I find any holiday that the kids are focused on others a good addition. I do remember reading about some awesome teachers who can manage education while still celebrating things. Just not so much.

Are you a teacher or classroom helper? My son usually gets very upset during the class parties so I am glad he is not at school today and doing the cyber school. Our school though stopped doing class parties for Valentine's day though.

@GardenGerty I can imagine how busy. I remember I did sub last year on Valentine's. The kids brought in so much food and treats that I put away everything that was packaged so the teacher could dole it out other times.

@GardenGerty Me too. But we celebrate something much later on. I donĀ“t usually have much time on a day like that anyway.

My husband had to work. So there was nothing Fun unless you count going to Cosco and picking up a prescription and then grabbing one of the Polish and Soda for $1.50 before my husband went to work.

Hubby brought home steaks. After supper he read a library book and I soaked in the tub and read a magazine and gave myself a pedicure. Lots of excitement.
