Would I Forget My Head if it Wasn't Attached?

Yesterday I started my busy day so organized.
I woke up without my alarm at 6. I started a load of laundry and I used my time to make Turkey pot pies, some of which I had planned to take to my elderly aunt in the city.
I got all my things by the door that I needed to do a mystery shop on the way. I gathered the recycling that has to go to the city. I got the laundry out to the clothes line. All in all, a busy morning before heading out at 8:30.
I left in good time to do the mystery shop and get to my dentist appointment on time.
Not too long after I left, my husband called to tell me my "care package", three Turkey pot pies, for my aunt was on the counter. Once all my errands were done and I got to my aunt's house I realized I had forgotten to bring the new purse I bought with the birthday money she gave me! I wanted to show it to her and express my appreciation! When I arrived home last evening, I realized the recycling came home with me!!
I need a list, and if it is not on the list - it does not happen!

My bro - in - law would come home without so many items. When wife tells him she had given him the list prompt comes the reply 'Who looks at your list" (lol)

lol Yes you sound a lot like me, I think we all have so much in our brain that we get half the errands done and mess up the second half.

@paigea lol That would slow our lives down considerably. My husband always gets mad at me for asking him to do more than one thing at a time.

@paigea forgetting your purse is nothing compared to what my wife forgot one day - - her DENTURES!

@paigea Well, she loves to sing along with the choir in our church. I told her not to sing coz she forgot her dentures. So, she just kept praying . . .

I have only made a lot pie once. I should look up a vegetarian recipe for one! Your memory doesn't sound as bad as mine. Mine has always been awful :-/

I was disappointed not to have the pot pies for my aunt. And arriving home with that big bag of recycling was just annoying. It is stuff that has to keep until we go back to the big city.
There are probably great vegetarian recipes. This version I did had Sweet potato biscuit for topping instead of pie crust. Yum.

@paigea My problem is that sometimes I reach the supermarket and remember I left the list on the dining room table

Maybe you should have it noted in your smartphone. I have a reminder app on my phone and it is so useful, because i would set it to alarm every 2 or 3 hours.

Sounds like you were rushed, sometimes, when in a hurry it gets like that.

I was so proud of myself as I drove away from the house, as I can be a bit unorganized and rushed. But I really wanted to take those things to my aunt. lol - lunches are ready for me for work and I will have to make chicken ones next time I roast a chicken. That was the end of the Turkey. lol

i know, i do things like that too although not going out, but i will go into the kitchen with a plan to take something there as i go from my room and come back with something i need. then, will get there and remember i forgot to bring something with me then go back and get there again only to forget what i was originally after in there. sometimes

But at least you managed to do other things. I have a list in my head I don´t much care for lists written down. Probably because I lose them on the way there.

@paigea
I remember better than a list I really do. Of course I forget the odd thing or two but if I were to write a list down I forget to write it all down sometimes.

Maybe you have so many activities on your mind that you forgot things? I find myself easily distracted too.
