The second song on the countdown is an REM song called stand and it would be an oldies song today because it came out in the early 1990's.I heard the song in definitely maybe a movie with Abigail Breslin, and Ryan Reynolds.I heard the song playing at a new years eve young democrat party that Will was at in Madison Wisconsin with Will kissing his college sweetheart Emily/Sarah.Will changed the woman's names so his daughter could figure out which woman he dated was her mother. Will called the woman Emily but her real name was Sarah.

Wikipedia lists it as an alternative song genre but also pop rock genre.I think pop rock and soft rock are the same genre.I will keep the great song on my countdown.

@workathomefan Pop rock and soft rock are not the same thing at all.

I agree with @NJChicaa -- never thought of R.E.M. as "soft rock," not even the ballad "You Are the Everything." This is a song that a lot of people are polarized about -- lots of R.E.M. fans hate it, but I tend to like it. It's no "Fall On Me," but it's definitely not as bad as "Shiny Happy People."

Shiny happy people was never considered a bad REM song.I always loved it.I never heard of you are everything.I think Stand sounds like a soft rock song to me or lite rock and it would probably play on 96.1 the river which is soft rock or light rock.
