Have you ever been to Rome?

Today I had lunch with a friend who has just arrived from a 1-month season in Rome and she just made me fall in love with this place. Roma wasn't in my future travel plans, but after a real distance exchange (through photos, videos and personal experiences) that she gave me, I'm rethinking the fact of putting Rome back on my radar. What can you say about Rome?

As a Roman archeologist, my opinion is perhaps biased, but it is a city that I would recommend to visit for his monuments : the forum, the coliseum in your picture. And also hundreds of churches, where you can see paints from all the Christian world. Not only Michel Angelo, but also Rubens. I do not know where are your roots, but any person with European roots should visit Rome at least once.

I spent a week in Rome and did not have enough time to see and do all I wanted to. I will have to go back one day. It is a beautiful city with many places of interest. It is bursting with ancient history and monuments. It is a very easy city to navigate and most places are within walking distance. Allow yourself a whole day to visit the Vatican and St Peters. I was there from 07:00 to 23:00 and completely mesmerised by the whole experience. I felt I was in heaven!

@theinvisibleman Over-priced +++. It's also filthy, and as I said recently, the only safe way to cross a road is to tuck in behind a malevolent looking Nun who nobody will mess with. Oh and it also has its charm.
Little intimacies from a rough road lightly travelled.

We had a short stay in Rome and really enjoyed it. I'd go if I were you. There is certainly a lot to do there.

I have been to Rome. Worth the trek to see the sites but overall a dirty hot city where you have to be constantly aware of thieves on scooters.
