A Last Beautiful Sight Before My Root Canal

Tonight we had a meeting at a friend's winery pertaining to defending our water rights. We got lost on the way because we missed a turn. It was killing me, because we were on the back roads and the sunset was gorgeous. All I wanted was to get out and take a picture. We actually passed a tourist who was taking the picture I wanted from the middle of the road with nothing in the way. But we didn't have time to stop. Finally, we got to the tasting room and I jumped out, wanting to get a photo before the sun set. I wish there were not so many buildings and power lines in the way, but I decided to get what I could anyway. I rather like the birds on the wire -- they are a bonus I didn't see while shooting. My day won't be as much fun tomorrow. It is my first date with the endodontist for a root canal. I will be sedated, and the information I got about the drug says I won't be functional for the rest of the day. The effects may even last into the next day. I'll have to wait and see. After tomorrow I will l have one root canal a week for the next three weeks. In between, I get to have crowns put on. I made soup again today and should have enough to get me through the next couple of days. I also prebaked some sweet potatoes. So I have soft foods. It will be a busy next four weeks, and I may not have much time to spend online. I'll be here when I can be. Believe me, I'd rather be here than in the dentist chair.

I hope the next few weeks go fast for you. I also hope the medication won't make you too loopy or tired.

Thank you. I hope they go fast, too. The medication is supposed to make me very loopy. I'm not supposed to be alone the rest of the day.

@bagarad I live on the north bank of the Yangtze River and I often gaze at the orange glow of the setting sun above the river.

@changjiangzhibin89 I'd like to see that. Can you post a photo sometime? Or have you already done that?

I wish you had been able to see the actual sky as I did while we drove to the winery.

How many teeth need root canals and why? I've had several myself but not more than one every several years or so. I've maybe had three or four in my lifetime. I do have a load of crowns though, but not all of them needed root canals before getting the crowns. I can't imagine having a lot done in a short amount of time. Will most of the work be covered by your insurance. My insurance only pays half of the price of crowns, so it takes me a while to pay my other half unless I have flex money left at the end of the year. I like the birds on the wire too which I had to go back to see, and I'm sure you'll see more beautiful sunsets after your work is done, lol. Forgot you already had all that work done and maybe already have all the crowns now too? I saw this on the side bar and since I've had root canals had to visit.

The work was finished about two weeks about. I thin part of the problem was that my previous dentist had not take X-rays of the roots in years and these four teeth were not caught in time. I have receding gums that easily get attacked. Our current dentist did the X-rays and found them, so we had to get them done quickly.

Your dental work does sound a bit of a challenge. I have to have a crown replaced on March 1. That is a nice sunset. What a shame you couldn't have stopped a bit earlier.

I did get my husband to stop in the only place we could on the way, but the sun was very bright and beneath the clouds, and I had to get it hidden a bit behind the trees if I didn't just want a photo full of sun spots. Good luck with your crown. I'm having another root canal that day, if I survive this one.

@JudyEv Probably a good idea, but I'm glad to get it all over with before I have to work on taxes.

I feel your pain. Try to think of that sunset when in the dentist's chair.

I'll relate my experience later today. As it turned out, I am unaware of any thoughts I might have had there.

Thanks. I wish I could have moved a few buildings and power lines.
