Tragedy struck last night...an accident no one saw coming. Every time I think about it my heart breaks. They were so young and it doesn't seem real or possible.
My husband has a friend that he has known since he was a young child. They grew up together and my husband used to babysit his friends kids whenever he needed it.
Fast forward to last night...His friends son and nephew (15 & 16 years old) died in a head on collision. It was storming and the other car came into their lane when they lost control of their car. The other driver has serious injuries. Both the boys died on impact. Weather was the cause of the crash. =( Everyone was wearing their seat belts.
The mom of the nephew already lost her husband 8 years ago to a heart attack-now she lost her son too. I don't know how she's going to keep going.
Please keep the Deraway family in your prayers-they truly need it.

I am so sorry to hear this. I will keep them in my prayers. That is just so sad and tragic. It truly heartbreaking.

@Happy2BeMe I got chills when I read the news report about it. =( I cannot even imagine what the parents, siblings or family members are going through right now. My husband was like family to them, he couldn't focus on work yesterday so he stayed home...

Yes, the Deraway family will be in my thoughts giving her positive thoughts. How tragic. It is times like this that friends are so monumental in helping people be more able to cope with such loss. Thank goodness they have you folks.

Thoughts and condolences going out to them. What a tragic event. Things like that happen here too.

@shaggin I know. I really don't know how she will find the will to live at this point. She was so fragile the last time we saw her. I cannot imagine how she's coping right now. =(

I pray for the family. I hear way too many of these types of tragic stories. It really makes me ill and grieves me to read stories like this.

Oh no! That is so sad. I feel so sorry for their families. It cannot be easy to lose a child. My heart goes out to your husband's friend and his entire family. It's so sad that these two boys lost their lives at such a young age. It doesn't seem right.
