Husband is going to France

One of the reasons my husband took his new job was that it involved some traveling which he enjoys. Now, the travel would mostly be up and down the Eastern Seaboard but there were opportunities for other parts of the country and beyond. Today he told me that he is being sent to France to his company's headquarters possibly as soon as next week and, if not, in one of the upcoming weeks. It will be a Tuesday to Friday trip. Needless to say he is very excited. I am happy for him but also nervous. I feel like ISIS just keeps hitting France over and over again. He would be landing in Paris and then taking a train to his final destination. Stay tuned!

France is safe, we have not had any attack since last July. He has more chances to have a car accident than to be hurt by a terrorist. I hope he will enjoy his stay here.

I'm sure he will. He is going to Strausborg. (I don't know if I spelled that correctly)

I've been to france many times. It's ok but not as good as the UK They've been hit a couple of times but that just means their security services are on high alert. No offence meant but statistically speaking he'd be in more danger in the US. He'll be ok

@NJChicaa I can understand that you worry, it's natural when a loved one goes to a foreign country. The terrorism thing is just so unlikely to happen. Because it is in the news it is in your head. I've been to france maybe 20 or 30 times with no problems at all. One thing I would say is that your hubby should learn at least basic french as that'd be appreciated over there.

@Mike197602 I don't know how much he can learn in a week or two, but I know he did download an app on his phone and he has been using it.

We had an attack here last summer just a couple of miles from here linked to someone who was wannabe ISIS. They are here too. I just worry.

I would have said lucky dog once upon a time but France has lost some of its luster.

@NJChicaa I am glad I got in European travel when I did. It isn't just the whole scare thing but costs have zoomed.

He loves to travel, even silly overnight business trips. We don't have kids so why not take the job? So far it has just been day trips to DC but I think France will make up for it!

@Happy2BeMe it really has. Soon he will start working from home and it will be even better for him. (he is driving over an hour to the office and back each way at the moment) He says that he feels like he will feel guilty staying home and "doing nothing but checking emails" if he works from home. I think the drive will get old soon though.

It is ok to worry but I don't think you should honestly.
