Caregiver

It's been a couple of years since I've been with my job as a medical practitioner and I think that I was really destined to be. And with the kind of profession that I have, it really requires a good health condition but aIso I cannot avoid stress. So sometimes I could ask myself if there's somebody who will take care of me someday?

A job of a medical practitioner is quite a stressful one. Many studies in the country I live where doctors are overstretched and overburdened with work prove that many are suffering with problems related to mental and psychological stress as they do not get time to relax and tend to themselves. Here in our country even today doctors are considered Gods in villages as they give life to a patient. This puts a huge sense of responsibility and burden on the doctor who is after all a human too and needs rest and recreation as others. There are also news of young doctors indulging in substance abuse as it is easily available as they are doctors. The do this to beat stress and fatigue with other associated psychological problems but get addicted. Best thing is to take the weekend off and do not be there in town. Have limited appointments a day, one of the doctors who I know does this. Have a set time to work. Move away from place of work and switch off mobiles. Keep your patients informed of this rule if they would want to be treated. You can also work out a solution depending on the market there where you practice. In India you get places where somebody will take care of you. I do not know the case in your country. Please check or buy things or groceries on friday and be ready to move away on weekend out of you home without any mobile. Join groups of your interests and hobbies. Hope this information helps. Best of luck.
