Another weekend has come and gone....

Well, another weekend filled with plans that went unfulfilled. I did get some writing (very little, one blog post that I didn't even plan on writing) done and worked on income taxes but I never looked at my camera, nor did I bake any bread. I don't know what it is but I just completely lose ambition on the weekend. I have a list of about 30 blog posts to write and dozens of photos to shoot and yet when the time comes I put it off. There are a few breads I want to try making and yet, nothing. Some of these tasks are intermingled - I actually have a bunch of blog posts about bread baking that need to have bread baked, posts written and photos taken.... Does this happen to anyone else? If so, did you come out if it? How?

This always happen to me since I am on a night shift. My whole saturdays are always spent sleeping and before I know it, it's already monday.

I'm glad I don't work that shift. When I was younger I had a job for a while where I worked 10 hours shifts, 4 days a week. I worked from 2:00 in the afternoon until 12:30 the following morning. It was good for me then because it was almost like having a 4 day weekend. I was always up by 7:00 and had most of a day to do stuff before having to work. That schedule would kill me now....

I think you might be getting bored with things, so I suggest you take a short break. Go and visit a friend, that is always motivating for me. I see the different ways they do things, compare my house with theirs and long to come home and move the furniture around, even pick up an idea for a hobby. I'm not saying that the flurry of activities last indefinitely but it is a shot in the arm which always bucks me up.

That is a really good idea! I've always wanted to see Greece? What time should I come over? :-)

Looks like you have a big list of tasks to do, I wish you succeed to make it all. Myself I never make a list of blog posts, I just sit and write what comes to my mind.

@lillywriter - I do both. I find that a lot of my writing just "happens" - I will have a thought and next thing I know I am writing 500 words. I also have ideas that pop into my head for something that I would like to write about and I use them as prompts. Mostly my lists are for things I want to write about in the varies "Series" I write - "Improve Your Photography", "Science of Bread Baking", "Hiking Through History" and "Birds of New Jersey". This helps me focus and not repeat myself or have things overlap too much.

It is hard to stay motivated, especially at the weekends. I find making lists and checking things off as I do them helps me stay more focused.

I am finding my motivation waning.... I have the lists, I just end up doing nothing. Hopefully it is just a phase....

I count myself lucky when on the few occasions I succeed in getting my bread baked just right.

Kandase - bread takes a bit of practice but the rewards are worth the effort. I love experimenting with different formulas and making stuff up. I have my own pizza dough that I came up with a few years back that everyone loves. I am playing around with sourdough now.

Yes, I go thru this, too. I try to prioritize and not let the work build up.Staying motivated is,also, important.

I should think everyone goes through this. For me, I guess I'd write a list and start on it. I also used to pick just three tasks and do them then pick another three. Hopefully you'll get your motivation back soon.
