Tight end Martellus Bennett joins the Green Bay Packers

Former New England Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett sign a contract with the Green Bay Packers on Friday. Bennett became a free agent at the end of the 2016 football season when his one year contract with the Patriots expired. Bennett will replace Jared Cook as the tight end of the Packers during the 2017 football season. Bennett became expendable when the Patriots their fourth round draft choice to the Indianapolis Colts for the services of Colts tight end Dwayne Allen and a sixth round draft pick on Wednesday.
