Hootsuite for your social media needs

Raise your hand if you are active in social media. Now, how many use social media to promote a blog, business, product or something else? Yup, me too! I was using Facebook and Twitter mainly for keeping in touch with people and sharing ideas. Then I started getting into blogging and used them, along with Google+, to promote my blog - then to promote my photography. It started to become a burden and it took me away from other things. This was, in part, because when I wanted to push something out I had to sit and do it right then. Along came Hootsuite. I had heard about it a while back and started a free account but didn't really do much and I forgot about it. A couple days ago I was chatting with a fellow blogger and she mentioned she had to do some scheduling. I never thought of that! I asked about her tools and she mentioned that she used Hootsuite for a bit but thought the free account was too restricting. I opened it and found the only restriction that was limiting me was the limit of 3 social media accounts - since I was primarily using Facebook, Twitter and Google+ that wasn't a problem. I got busy - before I knew it I had more than 40 posts scheduled over 4 days. A nice feature is "Autoschedule" which uses some algorithm to determine the optimal time for posting. Now I can spend a couple hours putting together a schedule and sit back. Life will be much easier now....

It's a good tool to have. I have used it in the past for my blog.

I used to use it years ago, don't have much need for it anymore. But I remember there were at least several different kinds of the same deal. I remember I liked hootsuit the best however.

So far it has been great! I would like to have more than 3 accounts but don't use the others too much anyway. The only thing I would improve is the Instagram link - you can't have it automated.

Yes, @fishtiger58, if you are looking to promote photography it is virtually a requirement anymore. I don't use it nearly as much as I should.

Reminds me of a bar/dîner I was taken to in the US once, one where the customers were served by young women wearing very little to preserve their modesty.

@WanderPhotog The very same, yes. Never tried hootsuite, the Twitter app suffices for the small amount of social tweeting I do.
