Free agent running back Rex Burkhead met with officials of the Atlanta Falcons to seek employment with the defending National Football Conference Champions. Burkhead became a free agent when his contract with the Cincinnati Benglas expired at the end of the 2016 football season. The Falcons would sign Burkhead to provide depth in the running back position since they have running backs Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman on their current roster.

He might want to sign with a Super Bowl contender.
