Yes it's quite interesting. Today we are invited in a birthday dinner of my niece. But her birthday is on 20th March Monday. My sister in law is celebrating her daughter's birthday two days earlier. Because Monday is a working day and her daughter is having a regular schooling on that day as she go to school in am afternoon time so she will be celebrating her birthday with school mates. So a very happy birthday to little dolls she turns 3...

We always have to choose 2 Saturdays with my eldest daughter, no matter what our real birthday is. She was born on June 4th and I on June 8th. Happy birthday to your niece

it's also done here, birthdays celebrated a few days before or after (advanced or delayed), usually to make sure family and friends can attend.
