I would like to extend everyone an invitation to participate in a poetry challenge. I've seen a few here and they look like fun. I hope everyone will join in. I'm interested to see what we can come up with. Use the words, love, gifts, rainy, waxed and children. My poem follows. I look forward to reading yours.
Gifts of love
Soft rainy days
Bring to mind
Screen doors slamming
On rain sodden porches
Wet tracks on waxed floors
Dribbles of water
On legs of children
Catching rain water in pans
To wash their mothers hair

I love my children with all my heart
Through days both rainy and sunny
The gifts that they bring are all a part
Of the fabric of life so funny
Sliding on waxed floors with tiny feet
Their little voices lifted in glee
Days gone by we can't repeat
How quickly those moments flee
