If you are going to make your own subject at school, what would it be?

at school, I wanted to create a Video Gamer subject. I am sure some of you will react differently. In fact, this subject can give an option for students to be a “game tester” if wished to have a good job in video game industry. There are some people that choose to be a game tester because they can able to play the video game and being paid at the same time. They simply need to test the video game for possible bugs in the game and reported to the creator to fix it. Any subjects in mind? Image Credit: pixabay.com

I think they need a Crocheting class. Where people can learn how to crochet different type of items for their homework as for so many it is becoming a thing of the past?

Yes, I totally agree with this! It'd be good if kids can learn that in school. @shavkat It's so nice that you learned that. So this is why many Filipinos know how to crochet, as you guys learned it in school.

I could still remember we have this homeroom class. I did a crochet project. My mom was laughing about it and taught me to have some designs with the perfect combination of colors.

There should be a subject of Ancient Alien theory in schools so that people wouldn't be shock if they see a UFO.

For me, it's still reading, writing, and arithmetic. With that knowledge, you can do anything. Manners and respect are also important.

Interesting Topic.. Must say.. Even I would love to have the "game tester" subject. i won't say I am a gamaholic but I love o play some of the computer games. And if a little training could have been given in school then students could have a bright future. And yes if you love the work you are going to shine for sure. So a possible chance for the students to have a bright future.

Can you actually get paid for doing that? I mean that over here does not exist online as far as I know. Don´t know what subject as I would have to think about it. Seeing as I don´t go to School I am out of that but you have a good idea going there.

What about an Astronomy Project with the idea of the New Planets they say they have found in mind. A project in Video for them to plan how they would get there or they could imagine it instead make a sort of Story about it.

@Shavkat There are dozens of Game themes they could make with that kind of subject in fact I believe endless. Its something I have thought of as I am not much into Video Games really but it would be nice to use one that tells you things to educate you and nice things like that.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I guess it depends on what games the creator will do. I am not fond of playing computer games. For me, it is a waste of time. I go this idea because youngsters are so addicted to it. I was thinking it would be productive if they can use their skills in playing and paid at the same time.

I vote for human and pets language, there should be a way that we could communicate with our pets at home. Therefore, we are able to know how our pets feel, whether they are happy or sad and what they wanted. An easier way to understand each other

I'd like to have more handwork classes, which we didn't have. I just learned knitting, crocheting, sewing in these few years. I think we should learn that when we are young. Perhaps cooking, baking, woodworking, gardening too. These are what I am currently learning, and teaching my kids too. Besides these handwork subjects, I think money management subject is good for the kids too. I didn't learn anything about finance/money management as I was not in business class, and it's actually so important for all of us.

I'd have a class that teaches students how to have an intelligent conversation with adults and peers. It would include how to disagree without character attacks, how to present reasons for opinions, and how to get to know a friend or colleague or future partner well. It might also teach phone etiquette and basic manners in case students have not learned them at home -- things like not interrupting or hogging the conversation.

I think it is also good to train the students with good conversations. It shouldn't me intimidating with the adults. Social skills will be developed in dealing with all types of people.

I think children should have an ethics panel, students who review and test video games to rate them according to a rating system that would set a trend towards somewhat less violence and more good behavior, but still maintain fun and action and creativity and challenge. Students who play any type of game and don't realize what the violence level is and how it negatively effects them, maybe students could set a positive trend towards new games that taught good behavior while at the same time are both fun and challenging for all ages. I think we need new types of board games that are even more fun perhaps than Monopoly, Chess, Checkers, Dominoes, Crossword puzzles, as not all games need to be electronic. There is always room for new games both electronic and board games as well as role playing games that can promote skills in the performing arts as many children grow up as actors and performers in many areas that pay well.

I agree. It should be checked before the students would be able to play the video games. On the second part, I do think that students should know the old school games as you had mentioned.
