Daily myLot routine

Ok. First off, I will not deny that in the (supposedly) 6 years I have been here (according to my profile), I've probably been NOT here more often than I have been here. In any case, I have had, for some time now, a "myLot #10" on my to do list/planner app thing on my phone. What does "myLot #10" mean, you might ask? Well, it means that the plan is to go to myLot everyday, and participate in at least 10 discussions per day. (Whether I'm able to do that or not is affected by many things such as other tasks on my to do list, how slow I am on that day, and laziness. But anyway, that's the plan. ) I chose 10 because... well, it seemed like a nice, round number. Not too many because I am a bit of a slow reader, and slow responder, so trying to tackle more than 10 might result in me not being able to do anything else that day. What about you? Do you have any specific daily routines related to myLot? Are you married to that routine? (I mean, how dedicated are you to it? )

My daily routine is to clean at least all my notifications. Today seems to be a hard task because I have more than 100.

Ah! Yes, of course. Going through notifications is something I do alongside the "mylot #10". It's a good feeling to be able to delete those notifications as I look into them. And maybe because I've only just come back, I still have a very manageable number of them now. Part of me dreads the thought of having to deal with hundreds of them.

@MALUSE Well, we can choose what we want to appear in our notifications by checking/unchecking the boxes in Notification Settings. I have almost all of them checked because, as I mentioned, I still have a very manageable number of notifications now. But basically, the I just take note of the likes and delete them right off, the comments, and especially the responds and mentions, I follow.

@moirai It's horrible when you find so many in the morning. I am checking and deleting notifications from more than one hour.

Whoa. Wow. I might not like to follow you, then, if you make 100-300 posts daily . But I looked at your profile and saw that you have 416 posts (discussions) and you've been here about a month. So, that's around 13 a day only. You exaggerate. Or maybe you included your responses and comments in your count.

@moirai the activity number next to our usernames includes discussions, responses and comments (total number of posts)

I don't have a routine here or on any other site. I sort of jump around from thing to thing, sometimes I'll go weeks without even visiting MyLot, and then other times I'll be on here every day.

Ah! I can understand that. In fact, I am kind of like that - right now, I'm still in the 'probably going to be here everyday for the next coming days' phase... but who knows, that can easily turn into 'I haven't been here for months'. The plan for a daily 10 remains, but as I (sort of) mentioned, whether it gets done or not is different story.

i always tell myself to be more active, either submitting more discussions or participating in other people's posts, but i just can't sustain it. but i really don't mind being one of the slow earners here.

I don't mind being a slow earner, too. It's actually so much more enjoyable (i.e., less stressful) when one doesn't get too obsessed about how much is earned per day or things like that.

@hereandthere Very good. IMO, that's actually the way to go here in myLot - just post a few discussions every now and then (the more thought out and unique, the better - instead of daily 'good morning' and 'I'm off to bed, good night!' types of posts that contain little else but that ), and spend more time responding and interacting on other people's posts.

@moirai there are members who earn well even if they only post a few discussions because they are very active in interacting with others

I find it totally weird to set goals for participating on myLot. It's a hobby, not an obligation! If a post takes my fancy, I respond. If not, I don't.

I don't see it as an obligation either. If I did, then I would not disappear from here for months on end. Hehehe. However, it is an earning site, isn't it? So when I'm here, it makes sense that I should make the most of it. Then again, seeing that my payments page says, and I quote, "You have not received any payments from myLot yet.", I thought it was high time that I make some sort of goal. Hahaha. In any case, I agree with you regarding: "If a post takes my fancy, I respond. If not, I don't." Which is why sometimes, finishing that 10 per day is not as easy as other times - when I find it difficult to find ones that takes my fancy.

Hehe. Sometimes, if the discussions are good, it can be quite hard to stop, and you'll just notice you've been here for hours (and subsequently failed to do anything else ). Then there are other times when it could be hard to find a discussion that you're interested in. So I just try to get those 10 at least and try not to go over it so much (sometimes it's hard to reach just the 10 on the slow days). If I find more interesting discussions when I'm past 10, I place the discussions on bookmarks so that I can come back to them at some later time. Sometimes though, the bookmarks just pile up and get forgotten. Oh, well. I do what I can.
