Back from the car boot sale

We're back from the car boot sale and have had a nap as we were up at 4am. Not that we needed to be up at that hour but we both woke up around then and decided we might as well get up as lay there waiting for a more reasonable hour to arrive. So by the time we got home we'd already put in a 9-hour day.
The sale went quite well although we came home with a bit of more than we had hoped to. We thought about attending a sale tomorrow on the other side of our place but on further investigation we found it is only for primary producers so that rules us out. We're quite pleased really.
So now I'll go through what's left. Most will go to the op shop/thrift store. Some of the bigger stuff we'll put on the local FB buy and sell site. We met some new people and had some nice chats. Also had a yummy 'sausage-in-a-bun' from the sausage sizzle run by the local Fire Brigade. All is good.
Pictured is our Weber which we've bought home. Hopefully that might sell on FB. Now everything has been cleaned up it seems a shame to put it back in the shed to get cobwebbed and dusty again.

I'm bald you managed to move some of your stuff with the car boot sale. I have had garage sales in the past but can't be bothered now. I have sold some things on a selling site called Kijiji.

Sounds like you had a good time and sold some of the stuff you wanted to.

I have had disappointing yard sales. Sometimes what you think will move doesn't.

Always nice to sell some things. Free up some space.

@TheHorse I'm trying to get rid of things not take in more! Sorry, no room for any kind of loudspeakers. As it is, we now have new photographic lights to store. They were quite tricky to assemble so i think it would be easier if they were able to stored 'as is' rather than taking them apart each time.

Nice to sell stuff that is no more used in the house. Wish we had such an arrangement here.

@allknowing In the end it was too windy and wet so we didn't even unpack anything.

I generally find the best time to be at a car boot sale is right at the start when the real bargain hunters turn up - it does mean being up very early though

Webers are great to cook on, though I use a gas grill these days. Glad the sale went well

@JudyEv I grill pork chops, marinated chicken and steaks, sometimes fresh fish too.

@JamesHxstatic Fresh fish would be yummy. I also like a plain old sausage too but I have to ask nicely if I want 'plain old sausages'. My 'chef' prefers something a bit fancier! :)

It was good to go through boxes and sort out what was really just junk and what was worth trying to sell.

Glad to hear the sale went well. I hope you can get rid of some of the stuff you could not sell soon.

A relative of ours told us that when they downsized they had a weekend-long yard sale. We would just close the garage door after the first day and reopened it on the second day. They sold the majority of their stuff and made a nice little stash of money. We hope to have a yard sale in the warmer weather to purge some of the things that we've cleaned up-like your shiny red grill, and don't want to have get all dusty and forgotten about again.

Glad to hear that everything went well and that you had fun and met some new people. That is great. Nice looking Weber. I wish I lived closer I would buy it.
